CURRENTLY WE ARE ONLY SERVING THE SANTA CLARA COUNTY. THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONTINUED SUPPORT.

Happy New Year 2022!

Happy New Year 2022!

We are so excited to go into a new year! We are eternally grateful for all the support we have received last year. Our team has faced so many amazing changes and opportunities last year and we can’t wait to continue growing this 2022!

In 2021, we had staff relocations, new additions to our team, and even more partnership opportunities. Fulfilling Destiny is expanding and we are so appreciative of all the support we’ve had throughout the many changes we face.

In 2021, Fulfilling Destiny:

  • Celebrated our 4th year anniversary as an organization!
  • Doubled our impact and served 6,200 menstruators
  • Created a successful Giving Tuesday fundraiser
  • Hosted our largest packing party, packing over 2,000 Dignity Bags
  • Partnered & collaborated with 9 new organizations, bringing our total to 33 Community Partners
  • Began the expansion of our organization into the San Jose area, which hosts the 5th largest homelessness population in the US
  • Named two new co-directors of the San Diego region, Ms. Bridget Daffron and Ms. Nicole Deis

Thank you all for an amazing year! Your continued support has allowed our organization to grow and reach new heights! We are grateful to be able to reach more community members and organizations, while expanding our outreach to even more menstruators in San Diego and San Jose. Keep reading to find out more about our work in 2021 and future opportunities in 2022!

Wonderful Updates:

First off, a big thank you to The Inflorescence! The Inflorescence is a local no-man band. They dedicated their Dec. 31st New Years house show to raise money for Fulfilling Destiny, in hopes to make period products accessible to everyone who needs them. Thank you so much for supporting our mission! It truly means a lot to our organization and community.

We would love to give a big shout out to Jovi! Jovi assembled 50 Dignity Bags for Fulfilling Destiny. Not only did she pack these bags but she also purchased all of the products herself. The Dignity Bags she made also include a toothbrush, toothpaste, and masks. Jovi plans on continuing to support FD and we are both grateful and inspired by her drive to help our community! (Jovi and Bridget pictured on below on the right)

We would also like to express our gratitude to Pads 4 a Purpose at Otay Ranch High School @orhs.p4ap! They hosted a huge donation drive. The menstrual and hygiene product donations were donated to our organization. They also collected clothing that was donated to Rachel’s Women’s Center. Thank you for all that you do! We are inspired by work you do for our community @orhs.p4ap and are so grateful to have your support! Pads 4 a Purpose is a student-led group at Otay Ranch High School. One of their missions is to educate the community on period poverty and disparities surrounding low income communities. Be sure to check out their page @orhs.p4ap  for updates and educational posts, on topics like period shame and the wage gap.

Another connection we are so grateful for is our new partnership with The Honey Pot Company @thehoneypotco. We would like to give a warm thank you to The Honey Pot Company for making their first delivery to Fulfilling Destiny. Their products are the first plant-derived feminine care system on the market. We are so excited and thankful to work with them! You can read more about The Honey Pot Company’s social impact here.

Take a look at this Packing Party picture! This group Packing Party was hosted by the Otay Ranch High School girls Junior Varsity Basketball Team. The items packed are from the Studio Bloom donation drive. They packed 242 Dignity Bags (5,082 period products) and donated them to The House of Plants. These bags will be distributed to Victory Resource Center, TAY Academy, Areta, Sharia’s Closet, HOY and Rachel’s Women’s Center.

Pictured below is one of our amazing co-directors, Nicole, and her niece, Gianna. They helped with the end of the year inventory. Nicole and Gianna counted Dignity Bags and helped rearrange the storage unit to make room for future donations!

Bay Area Updates:

This January 2022, our Founder and President, Eya Touglo, has been working diligently to connect with Santa Clara County local organizations @santaclaracounty so that we can work together to provide free period products for menstruators in need.

Eya also arranged 2 distributions in San Jose. She distributed Dignity Bags to Villa LifeMoves. LifeMoves has the expertise to rapidly return people to stable housing. Finding a solution to homelessness requires all of us. We need your help to confront the homelessness crisis in our community. Working with LifeMoves can raise awareness about houselessness and period poverty. To learn more about their work click here!

Eya also distributed Dignity Bags to Overnight Warming locations in San Jose Evergreen Library. It is a nightly shelter with case management and basic needs assistance for unhoused residents operated by HomeFirst.

New Partnership Spotlight:

We would like to give a warm welcome to our newest partner Alexa Groueff! She is the owner of an online boutique based in San Diego called @_retro_flex_ that sells unique vintage clothing, accessories, and home items. She will be donating a portion of her sales to Fulfilling Destiny. We deeply appreciate her support and efforts to help us end Period Poverty and to spread education on menstrual equity.

Check out her page for listings of the items that will help achieve Fulfilling Destiny’s mission. Thank you Alexa, we are excited to have you on board!

More Dignity Bag Distributions!

Take a look at some pictures from this month’s distributions! We distributed Dignity Bags to Rachel’s Women’s Center, Victory Resource Center, and TAY Academy. Victory Resource Center received supplies that were donated to us by the student-led organization at Otay Ranch High School, Pads 4 a Purpose @orhsp4ap.
